Straddling the border between Statte and Crispiano, the rock-cut village of Triglie spreads along the edge of the ravine of the same name and is made up of rock-hewn grottoes and the churches of San Cipriano and San Michele.

The cave dwellings consist mainly of an open-space, irregularly-shaped single chamber, with a single opening, although there are caves made up of two or more chambers, while the in the village area have been found tombs.

A remarkable treasure trove of history, in the settlement have been unearthed important archaeological finds which have allowed the dating of the village: from the countless potsherds has been inferred that its most flourishing period was around 1000 AD.
