The Grotta Porcinara is set into the side of Punta Ristola, overlooking the crystal-clear sea, before the Grotta del Diavolo. Evidence has been found at the site that it was used for worship by man, who dug it out. It is divided into three rooms, originally communicating but now separated due to the building of a wall to separate the part owned by the municipality from the privately-owned part. The site can be entered by using the wooden steps connecting with the short path leading to the entrance to the cave. The inscriptions found, which are evidence of the cult of Batas, the Messapian god of light and lightning, and the discovery of the eschàra, a domestic altar, are of great importance.
