About the beach

Montedarena is one of the stretches of Marina di Pulsano, the coast of about eight kilometres that alternates rocky shores and coves of soft sand from Luogovivo to Lido Silvana. Here rock prevails: over about three and a half kilometres of coast, sand covers only about 350 metres, in small coves, while the rest is low rock. There are few beach clubs and the beachfront is mostly free.

The low rocky shores make this stretch suitable for those who love swimming off the rocks and diving; you will need water shoes. For small children the sandy coves are easier. Behind it lies the seaside village, which grew with beach tourism in the 1960s and 1970s, a quiet place with a family welcome.

There are a few car parks a short distance away. Facing south-south-west, it is sheltered with north (tramontana), north-east (grecale), east (levante) and south-east (scirocco) winds; with south (ostro), south-west (libeccio) and west (ponente) winds the sea gets rough. Pulsano is a Blue Flag municipality.
