About the beach

Lido Silvana is the eastern end of Marina di Pulsano: just over a kilometre of coast, with about 700 metres of sandy coves and the rest low rocky shore. The beachfront is largely free. The low rocky shores shelter the coves and make the area suitable for diving; off the shore there is a rocky islet that you can also reach by swimming.

Above the beach stands Torre Castelluccia, built towards the end of the 16th century by the Spanish against raids from the sea. Near the tower, between 1948 and 1952, a Bronze Age village was discovered; according to the Region, the Romans also built their villas here. Large-fruited junipers grow all around.

The nearest car park is about half a kilometre away: you get there on foot. On the rocks you will need water shoes; in the sandy coves the water is shallow, suitable for children. The coast faces south-west: with north (tramontana), north-east (grecale), east (levante) and south-east (scirocco) winds the sea is calm, with south (ostro), south-west (libeccio) and west (ponente) winds it gets rough. Pulsano is a Blue Flag municipality.
