Torre Specchia di Guardia is a watchtower located 115 meters above sea level in the district of Santa Cesarea Terme.
Also this tower, just like the others in this area, was built in the 16th century to defend the coast from the Saracen assaults.
It has a circular shape, with a very simple architectural style. It is only 5 meters high. The base is made with quite big ashlar blocks.
You can see the tower by walking the coastline from Santa Cesarea Terme to Otranto: it is located on a high rocky buttress, on a curvy stretch of road, crossing a pine forest below.
In the past, the tower was seen by Torre Santa Cesarea and Torre Minervino to the north.
