There are three monoliths which characterized the area of Supersano.
The first one bears the name of the Patron Saint of the town, Menhir Coelimanna, and is located in the namesake contrada, along the street which leads to the crypt of Santa Maria di Coelimanna. The menhir has been changed into “Osanna”, that is to say converted into a Christian monument, putting an iron cross on its top, while another one is engraved on one of its side.
The Menhirs Parco Rimembranze 1 and 2 take the name from the park in which they are located. The first one was found in 1999 and it was probably used as bridge to cross a country canal, while there is only a small part, 150 centimetres long, belonging to the second menhir and has a metal cross on its top.
The story
For now this text is only available in Italian.
Architecture and works
Legends and traditions
