About the beach

Monticelli is a stretch of rocky coast just under one and a half kilometres long, on the Ostuni seafront: no sand and no beach clubs, just low rocks from which to get into the water. It is a place for those who prefer rock and do not need services.

Just over a kilometre away is the small marina of Villanova, overlooked by a castle of Angevin origin, where you will find bars and restaurants; further north-west begin the sandy beaches of Rosa Marina.

Bring water shoes, a sunshade and everything you need, because there are no services on the rocks. The nearest listed car park is a few hundred metres away, so part of the way has to be done on foot. The coast faces north: north (tramontana), north-east (grecale) and north-west (maestrale) winds make the sea rough, while with east (levante), south-east (scirocco), south (ostro), south-west (libeccio) and west (ponente) winds it is sheltered. Ostuni is a Blue Flag municipality.
