According to tradition, in days of yore there were many oil mills in Giuggianello, the local township itself owed one. They were eventually all destroyed over the years, and today the only one to have stood the test of time is located in an ancient street on the eastern outskirts of the urban area, known by the name of ‘’Serravecchia’’, at the corner of Via Leopardi.
The ancient complex is spread over a total area of 850 sqm located 3m below ground level, and is accessed via a fifteen-step staircase.
