The long sandy beach of Punta Penna Grossa overlooks the Adriatic Sea and it has been awarded 3 Sails (a prize given to the most beautiful beaches) of Legambiente (Italian environment protection association). It Is located in the northernmost part of the Nature Reserve of Torre Guaceto, in the municipality of Carovigno, in the partially protected C area. Here the strand stretches inwards, with several dunes covered with Mediterranean scrub, which give way to junipers.
Punta Penna Grossa, characterised by freshwater marsh as the entire reserve, boasts public and private beaches, which can be reached by car or by shuttle bus.
Everyone can be amazed by the wonderful landscape at Punta Penna Grossa, thanks to a boardwalk as far as the sea, to the assistance for people with disabilities and free Job chairs.
The long beaches with fine sand and the soft sea bed which gentle slopes down are also the perfect place for children’s games.
