The Greek necropolis is located in via Marche, in the very heart of Taranto, where almost 140 tombs have been found. These testify to the fact that the site has been inhabited since the end of the 7th century BC.
Here, but also in other areas of the old town, they have found rock-hewn, dug into the ground or covered with carparo stone slabs graves, chamber tombs and sarcophagi, some of them really fascinating, as the monumental ones.
The site is one of the hypogea in the town which have been promoted, scattered around the town area, which allow to experience the wonderful and unknown Taranto Underground.
