Housed in the rooms adjacent to the Santuario di Santa Maria di Leuca, the Museum in Salento-Museo Vito Mele in Castrignano del Capo was born from the desire of sculptor Vito Mele and the rector of the sanctuary basilica, Don Giuseppe Stendardo, to create a space where the love of art can be cultivated.\n\nWalking through the exhibition halls, you can admire works by numerous nationally renowned artists including Giuseppe Grandi, Eugenio Pellini, Medardo Rosso, and Vincenzo Vela. The gallery is also populated by contemporary authors such as Sergio Alberti, Helen Ashbee, Kengiro Azuma, Mauro Baldessari, Orazio Barbagallo, and Ermes Bellani.
