The beach of Frassanito, in the area of Otranto, overlooks the Adriatic coastline and is proud of the Blue Flag and 5 Sails (a flag awarded to the most beautiful beaches) of Legambiente (Italian environment protection association).
The wonderful beach with white and fine sand, surrounded by high dunes which immerse in the sea, can be reached walking across the green Mediterranean scrub.
The sea bed with sand and flat rocks quickly descends, while some canals of the lakes make it a good place for basses and sand steenbrasses.
The bay, with public and private beaches, is flanked by sandy dunes and by a thick pine forest, where one can relax in the shade of trees.
Moreover, Frassanito is the perfect place to practice surf, windsurf, kitesurf and other water sports, enjoying the cool wind of Salento. Nearby, there are also other campsites and holiday farmhouses.
