In the Santoria Vecchia district, in the countryside of Torre Santa Susanna, the area of fortified massiera of the same name accommodates a precious Basilian crypt dedicated to St. J ohn the Baptist. Featuring a rectangular plan and two large pillars hewn into rock, the crypt is home to two large frescoes depicting St. John the Baptist clad in cloak and tunic while blessing with one hand and holding a book and a chain in the other.
The cave also holds an icon of the Blessing Christ.
