Communal Villa “Achille Tamborino”

Irregular in shape and with an imposing neoclassical entrance, the Communal Villa of Maglie covers an area of over seven hectares. It originated as the garden of Palazzo Tamborino, a historic and important family mansion in Maglie.\n\nThe green lung of the city, this large park faces the central Piazza Tamborino and is divided into two main areas: the part closest to the entrance is structured as an Italian garden, while the rest of the park has a distinctive English style.\n\nA clearing with six finely decorated pilasters leads to several paths characterized by flowerbeds and exotic plants, while the central path leads to a holm oak forest and then to a staircase that takes you to a viewpoint overlooking an artificial cave from which you can admire the Sanctuary of the Madonna Addolorata. The viewpoint also includes an octagonal pavilion in Corinthian style.\n\nEspecially in summer, the villa serves as a green backdrop for events, theatrical performances, and festivals.
