Palazzo Perez in Brindisi, dating back to the beginning of the 18th century, takes the name from the family who owned it from the 18th to the 19th century.
The facade is elegant and clear, decorated by a portal with a perfect structure, slightly projecting. Family Perez, a Liberal one, was an active protagonist during the Risorgimento and, in February 1830, the Bourbon police entered their house ordering to break up a political meeting, where there were popular members of the Carbonari society, such as Domenico Nervegna, Pietro Magliano, Giovanni Crudo.
Don Francesco Perez was forced to retreat for ninety days in a monastery of the town for “spiritual exercises”.
