Marina di Chiatona, in the western coast of the Gulf of Taranto, is part of the area of Massafra, by the Ionian Sea .
The long sandy beach, really popular, stretches for several kilometres. The central part has several beach resorts, hotels and restaurants to relax by the sea and to have fun at sunset.
On both sides, instead, there are public beaches, surrounded by sandy dunes and dotted with Mediterranean scrub.
The soft and sandy sea beds, which gently slope down, are perfect for children’s games by the sea shore.
When sirocco blows, water becomes rough, but when the wind from north blows, it is calm and transparent.
