Southwards of the “Beautiful town”, “Gallipoli”, Baia Verde beach stretches for three kilometres and boast 3 Sails (a flag awarded to the most beautiful beaches) of Legambiente (Italian environment protection association).
The beach with white and fine sand, where there are both public and private parts, overlooks the emerald green sea. The shallow water is perfect for children to play near the sea shore.
The beach is surrounded by dunes, on which there is the typical vegetation of the Mediterranean scrub, protected by small wooden fences. In the south part of Baia Verde beach, after two big hotels by the sea, there is a small pine forest which connects this bay to Pizzo bay.
