Being of a small size, this coastal tower dominates the sea in the area of Crocefisso, along the Gallipoli coastline.
Built for defensive purposes in the 16th century, it was created with irregular ashlars and a pyramidal-truncated layout with three storm drains on each side.
It is similar the Torre San Giovanni la Pedata nearby and has a barrel vault interior in which a chimney and well were later built.
It corresponded to the South with the Northern fortresses of Gallipoli and to the North with Torre dell’Alto Lido.
It collapsed during a state of abandon during the second half of the 19th century and a wall came down on the south wall of the building which is exposed to sirocco winds.
Being granted to the Mollana family in 1975, it underwent interventions and restoration work bringing it back to its current appearance.
