Santa Caterina, an exclusive holiday destination in the municipality of Nardò, boasts 4 Sails, enclosed by the namesake watchtower in the south, surrounded by the scented pine forest, and by Torre dell’Alto in the north, near the Park of Porto Selvaggio.
Along the low and rocky cliff stands out a small sandy bay, with a beach resort which leaves space for the public beach. The water is turquoise and clear, while the shallow water which slowly becomes deeper, the sea beds have first sand and then rocks and cliffs.
On the cliff on the right and on the left of the bay, there are two private clubs and, a bit further, there is the tourist port which is the background of the fishermen’s boats of Nardò. Moreover, here there are the diving centre and the canoeists’ association, from which it is possible to start day trips along the coast, towards the Park of Porto Selvaggio.
In the northern bay, at the feet of Torre dell’Alto, instead, there is a small island in the sea, while along the rocky slopes there are several caves with green-blue water.
