Palazzo del Sedile in Oria is the symbol of piazza Manfredi, a place which is the heart of the town life.
The building has the shape of a baroque-Renaissance square tower and dates back to 1700, when it was built by Michele III Imperiali, marquis of Oria.
It was the seat of Decurioni (members of the former municipal administration) and for this reason it is also known as Seggio dei Nobili (Seat of the noblemen). The façade is embellished by two statues of San Barsanofio Abate and San Carlo Borromeo who, together, keep a crest which represents a bird and two lions, symbols of the town.
Nowadays, Palazzo del Sedile is a place of art and houses temporary exhibitions.
