The Menhir Aia della corte is located in the periphery of Lequile, behind the church del Redentore, protected by a quadrangular flowerbed.

The monolith, discovered in 1922, consists of a single block of Lecce stone, 2.85 metres high. It has deep engravings on the sides facing the town centre. In particular, it is possible to recognize a cross on its surface, as other signs made by farmers, who used to tie donkeys to it during breaks from work.

The Menhir Aia della corte, in comparison to other pietrefitte (menhirs), hasn’t always had a religious meaning for the local inhabitants. Some old pictures show it used to have a considerable incline, no more visible.
